Frank von Zerneck and Robert M. Sertner, associated since 1987, have been the leading independent suppliers of long-form television. They have produced over 150 movies for television, and have delivered consistently high-rated quality entertainment with much sought-after talent including directors, writers, authors and actors. 

The company produced movies starring some of the biggest names in entertainment including: Brad Pitt, Hillary Swank, George Clooney, Pierce Brosnan, Courtney Cox, Alec Baldwin, Kathy Bates, Laura Dern, Hilary Duff, William H. Macy, Kelsey Grammar, Juliette Lewis, Shirley MacLaine, Lauren Bacall, and Tom Selleck, among many others. 

Production Credits include "Girl, Positive", the winner of the inaugral Television Academy Honors Award, starring Jennie Garth, Andrea Bowen, and S. Epatha Merkerson in a multiple award-winning drama about teen AIDS. In addition, the company produced the record-shattering drama “The Pregnancy Pact” for Lifetime Television, and "Racing For Time", directed by and starring three- time Emmy Award winner Charles "Roc" Dutton and Elizabeth Pena in a hard-hitting drama about teenage girls in prison. 

Von Zerneck/Sertner enjoyed a record-breaking run of successful programming including the #1-rated CBS Network miniseries, CATEGORY 7: THE END OF THE WORLD. The company also produced FOR ONE NIGHT, a hard-hitting contemporary story of racial discrimination at a high school, starring Raven-Symone, and one of cable’s top-rated films, AMBULANCE GIRL, directed by and starring Kathy Bates in a stunning performance which won her a Best Actress Emmy nomination. 

The company’s slate includes more top performers: GRACIE’S CHOICE, winner of the Prism award for excellence in depiction of drug and alcohol abuse, starring Anne Heche in an Emmy–nominated performance; a miniseries adaptation of Scott Turow’s best selling novel, REVERSIBLE ERRORS, starring Tom Selleck and William H. Macy; and THE MYSTERY OF NATALIE WOOD, a miniseries for ABC directed by Peter Bogdanovich.

The company’s roster also includes the critically acclaimed and highly rated WE WERE THE MULVANEYS, starring Blythe Danner, Beau Bridges, and Tammy Blanchard, which was based on the best selling Oprah Book Club novel by Joyce Carol Oates and which was nominated for three Emmy Awards; WITHIN THESE WALLS, starring Academy Award winners Ellen Burstyn and Laura Dern, which was nominated for a Humanitas Award and which won the Genesis Award for Outstanding Television Movie; and NO ORDINARY BABY, starring Mary Beth Hurt and Bridget Fonda, who was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her performance in the film. 

In addition to their work in television, the pair are responsible for two low-budget theatrical feature films, both of which enjoyed competition in the Sundance Film Festival: LIVING IN OBLIVION, written and directed by Tom DiCillo and starring Steve Buscemi; and GOD'S LONELY MAN, written and directed by Frank von Zerneck, Jr. 

Among the many other highly successful projects which von Zerneck and Sertner are proud to include on their resumes are: TOO YOUNG TO DIE, starring Brad Pitt and Juliette Lewis; GORE VIDAL'S BILLY THE KID, starring Val Kilmer and Wilford Brimley; and the mini-series QUEENIE, based on the best-selling novel by Michael Korda which starred Kirk Douglas and an award-winning cast. 

The von Zerneck/Sertner film library is one of the largest outside of the major network and studio systems and includes some of the most prominent performers in the entertainment industry. The distribution rights, which are pre-licensed to third parties, have begun to return to the Company and are projected to generate significant revenues in the future. Many of the movies under current distribution contracts have recouped their initial distribution advances, and are now projected to return additional cash flow as well.
